Cobra Kai Star Teases Major Celebrity Cameos For Season 5
It's wild to think that a risky legacyquel series to "The Karate Kid" has now become one of the biggest draws on Netflix as it heads into its eagerly anticipated fifth season. "Cobra Kai" hit hard with Season 4, which accumulated an incredible 120 million hours of views within its first three days of release (via The Wrap). And now fans are eager to see how the show strikes back when it returns in the fall of 2022.
With Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) squaring up against Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) in the "Cobra Kai" Season 5 trailer, it's clear that a lot of iconic characters will be throwing more than looks at one another in the upcoming season. What is also exciting is the hinted-at top-secret list of guest stars who could make the next installment of the series its most star-studded yet. That is if the teases of one of the titular team's MVPs are anything to go by — but then again, how can you really trust a Cobra Kai?
Cobra Kai Season 5 promises wild and random cameos
Peyton List, who plays Tory Nichols, revealed that "Cobra Kai" will return with some exciting and pretty out-there cameos to squeeze in between the bouts. Speaking to ET Online, List teased what we can expect in the future, and it sounds pretty, well, unexpected. "There are definitely some cameos within season five that I feel like are just as random as the ones we've had before," she said, having already brought up Carrie Underwood's cameo in Season 4, which was reportedly coordinated after the country star tweeted her love for the show. "But yeah, anyone who is a fan of 'Cobra Kai' should come forward now because I feel like the creators will find those messages and just be like, 'All right, let's figure this out.'"
Could List be alluding to Andrew Garfield, a noted "Cobra Kai" fan who once got emotional after the cast made a video thanking him for his support of the show? Following this recent bit of contact, they could very well have him on board. It's something for our spider senses to stew more than tingle on, that's for sure.
Besides celebrity fans potentially turning up in the show's fifth season, List also promised appearances from talent linked a little closer to what the show is about — fighting in locations that would get a karate class shut down. "There's more fighters that are coming on too [and] train people in that space, which was really exciting," Peyton revealed. "The boys were freaking out and they were training us."
We'll see what lessons they've learned when "Cobra Kai" returns on September 9.
