Trailer Park Boys Actor John Dunsworth Dies At 71
John Dunsworth, the Canadian actor best known for his work on the comedy series Trailer Park Boys, has died, CBC News has reported. He was 71 years old.
Dunsworth's daughter, Sarah, confirmed his death in a statement given to the outlet. "With heavy and broken hearts the family of John F. Dunsworth would like to let people know that our amazing husband, father, and grandfather John Dunsworth has passed away. John left this world peacefully after a short and unexpected illness."
Dunsworth broke into the entertainment industry in the 1980s and worked as a casting director before landing the role that thrust him into the limelight. Dunsworth was a part of the original cast of Trailer Park Boys, starring as the irreverent Jim Lahey, a former cop turned security supervisor at Sunnyvale Trailer Park. Trailer Park Boys has been on air for 11 seasons.
The actor also appeared in three Trailer Park Boys films: Trailer Park Boys: The Movie (2006), Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day (2009), and Trailer Park Boys 3: Don't Legalize It (2014). Dunsworth's filmography includes roles in Buried on Sunday (1992), The Shipping News (2001), A Bug and a Bag of Weed (2006), Stuck (2007), Cloudburst (2011), Take This Waltz (2011), Swearnet: The Movie (2014), Santa Quest (2014), and Lizzie Borden Took An Ax (2014). On the small screen, Dunsworth had a recurring role as Dave Teagues on the supernatural drama series Haven, which is loosely based on the Stephen King novel The Colorado Kid.
