Who Plays Lucy In Only Murders In The Building?
"Only Murders in the Building" Season 2 has expanded the series' established ensemble in a number of impressive ways. The Hulu show's second season has added well-known actors like Amy Schumer and Cara Delevingne to its cast and has introduced viewers to several more of the typically quirky residents of the series' fictional New York City apartment building, The Arconia. Episode 2 of "Only Murders in the Building" Season 2 even features a brief but memorable guest appearance from the legendary Shirley MacLaine.
That said, none of the new characters that have been introduced throughout "Only Murders in the Building" Season 2 have been as notable as Lucy. The character, who makes her first on-screen appearance in Episode 4 of "Only Murders in the Building" Season 2, plays a major but unseen role in the series' debut season. As viewers learn in "Only Murders in the Building" Season 1, Lucy once had a kind of father-daughter relationship with Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin). Unfortunately, their relationship came to a temporary end when Lucy's mother broke up with Charles.
For most of "Only Murders in the Building" Season 1, Charles is still silently and privately mourning the loss of his relationship with Lucy. However, he finally works up the courage by the end of the show's first season to reach back out to Lucy. Thankfully, "Only Murders in the Building" Season 2 follows through on the promise of Charles' decision by officially making Lucy a member of the show's cast. Taking that into account, here's everything "Only Murders in the Building" fans should know about Zoe Margaret Colletti, the young actor who plays Lucy in the Hulu series.
Lucy is played by Zoe Margaret Colletti
While her introduction in Episode 4 of "Only Murders in the Building" Season 2 comes as a bit of a shock, it doesn't take long for Zoe Margaret Colletti's Lucy to feel like a natural addition to the show's ensemble cast. As a matter of fact, Colletti's chemistry with Steve Martin is so infectious that it quickly becomes obvious why Charles found it so difficult to come to terms with Lucy's absence from his life for so many years.
Of course, it doesn't hurt that, despite her young age, Colletti has already built an impressive screen career for herself. Indeed, in the years since she made her 2006 screen debut, Colletti has appeared in nearly 20 TV shows and movies (via IMDb). In 2018, for instance, she appeared as Ruth-Ann in the acclaimed drama "Wildlife," and she played Stella Nicholls a year later in the 2019 horror film, "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark." Meanwhile, on the small screen, Colletti has had recurring roles on "City on a Hill," "Fear the Walking Dead," and the recent Netflix original series, "Boo, B****."
As of now, it's unclear just how much of a presence Colletti's Lucy will have in "Only Murders in the Building" Season 2. It seems safe to assume that Lucy will play some kind of a role in the show's latest murder investigation, but it's impossible to say what that will ultimately be. However, in a June interview with Entertainment Weekly, Steve Martin did warn viewers that they should "be suspicious of everyone, because the show is. Every time a new character comes on, we're very suspicious of that character."
Here's to hoping, for Charles' sake, that Lucy's hands are totally clean when it comes to the murder of Bunny Folger (Jayne Houdyshell).
