Margot Robbie Is Tonya Harding In I, Tonya Red Band Trailer

Although Tonya Harding's legacy will forever be shrouded in controversy, one thing is certain: she definitely made figure skating much more interesting.

Neon released the first full and NSFW trailer for I, Tonya, the darkly comedic biopic of disgraced Olympic skater Harding, and Margot Robbie has nailed the real-life character like a triple axel.

Directed by Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl), the movie follows the life of Harding from childhood with her foul-mouthed and demanding mother (Allison Janney) through her "alleged" involvement with the 1994 attack on rival skater Nancy Kerrigan (Caitlin Carver). Sebastian Stan (the MCU's Bucky Barnes) co-stars as Harding's ex-husband Jeff Gilooly, who was at the center of the incident and subsequent media circus.

The early reviews say that both Robbie and Janney give incredible performances that could lead to awards season buzz, and The Playlist calls the film "the Goodfellas of figure skating." That sounds about right.

I, Tonya hits theaters in December.
