The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power's Trailer Has Fans All Saying The Same Thing

The latest installment of "The Lord of the Rings" franchise is almost upon us. Amazon Prime Video has been touting their "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" series for over a year now, teasing images, dropping hints, and trying to keep the conversation alive regarding the wildly expensive adaptation.

With a planned five-season arc and production values that are meant to emulate the tremendous success of both "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" trilogies, the series is shaping up to be one of the most daring and ambitious television projects in the history of the medium.

However, skeptical fans have wondered if the series can truly succeed without Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens behind the camera. The three teamed up for all six of the modern takes on J. R. R. Tolkien's legendary fantasy series, and their absence has left a large gap of confidence for many Middle Earth aficionados. But are fans' expectations still the same following the release of the upcoming show's latest trailer?

Fans think the latest trailer shows the goods

Luckily, the last two trailers for the series have put much of the worries and fears regarding "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" to rest. While the first trailer was already a bold step in the right direction, the latest one from this year's San Diego Comic-Con has fans even more excited, particularly about the look of the series.

"The visuals are awesome, let's hope the script is as well," said one fan in the comments under the YouTube video of the trailer. "Visually looks amazing. Let's see how good the writing is now," agreed another. "Damn that quality this show has from VFX and all. Wow, amazing, I hope it does great," a third weighed in.

It would seem that most fans so far have the same praises and concerns. Naturally, the previous team's work on "The Lord of the Rings" franchise is hard to match, but there's no point in judging the story of the new series before we've even seen it. If the production arm behind Amazon Prime Video's adaptation can nail the look and feel of Tolkien's world, that's half the battle. Bonus points for the fact that Howard Shore and Bear McCreary are on board to help out with the score, as reported by Deadline

Furthermore, with the return of iconic characters like Elrond, Galadriel, Sauron, and the Balrog already shown in the previews, "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" seems to be finally shaping up into an adaptation of Middle Earth that fans can really get behind. With the premiere right around the corner, let's cross our fingers that it lives up to the hype.
