Laurence Fishburne Is Working On A Secret Marvel Project
Laurence Fishburne has a role in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp, but that's not the only Marvel project he's got in the works.
Fishburne told Collider that he was the one who pitched Marvel to be in the Ant-Man sequel (he plays Dr. Bill Foster), but he also revealed that he gave the studio a few other ideas, too.
"I'm developing something else for Marvel that I can't talk about," he said. "It's gonna be really cool. It's gonna change the world, we hope. [Laughs.] I went to Marvel and pitched them something that really couldn't work out. There was a lot of legal red tape that just [was] something they couldn't work out. But then they came back with the offer for Ant-Man and the Wasp and then they said, 'Hey, what do you think of this?' and I went, 'Oh yeah, that. Yes!'"
Fishburne didn't say if the project would be a movie, TV series, or something else, but it sounds like it won't be related to his Ant-Man character. Dr. Foster is the assistant of Hank Pym (Michael Douglas).
Of course, Fishburne, who is perhaps best known as Morpheus in the Matrix franchise, is about to become one of a handful of actors who have played characters in both Marvel and DC flicks. He already portrayed Perry White in Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Ant-Man and the Wasp lands in theaters on July 6, 2018.
