Boy Meets World's Fan-Favorite Couple Isn't The One You're Guessing

After seven side-splitting seasons and over 100 episodes, there is no denying that "Boy Meets World" had everything from iconic moments to scenes that went too far. The hilarious show with an impressive audience score on Rotten Tomatoes was known for many things, including the steamy romances seen throughout the series. Some lasted one episode, and others lived happily ever after, with many fans divided as to which one was the best overall.

Throughout television history, there have been plenty of toxic TV pairings and iconic TV couples that have stood the test of time. "Boy Meets World" has had its fair share of both over the years, and some duos are more memorable than others. While they had their ups and downs, Cory Mathews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel) stood out as the couple to root for in the series. The two characters were still together in the show's follow-up spinoff "Girl Meets World," which takes place over a decade after its predecessor. For Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong) and Angela Moore (Trina McGee-Davis), things didn't work out so well, and despite the two being a hot commodity in the original, they did not last.

While many would see these two as prime contenders for the title of fan-favorite "Boy Meets World" couple, another love connection is getting robust amounts of praise from several followers of the popular sitcom.

Amy and Alan Matthews are Boy Meets World's fan-favorite couple

Redditor u/StencilBoy posted the opinion that the parents of Cory Matthews — Alan Matthews (William Russell) and Amy Matthews (Betsy Randle) — are the best part of "Boy Meets World." The user wrote, "They communicate, support each other when they don't agree with each other, and remain open and honest. They make tough parenting decisions and are ultimately great parents ... They love each other physically and emotionally throughout the entire show, and put constant effort into keeping their marriage nurturing and loving." The recognition for the perfect pair received much support from fans in the comments. u/JaFakeItTillYouJaMak posted, "it definitely wouldn't be the utter classic it is without them. They've a fantastic relationship." And u/gypsyqueen77 wrote, "Being newly married, I aspire for me and my husband to be like Amy and Alan! Such well-written characters in a healthy, flourishing marriage and are great parents!"

And the fans aren't the only ones recognizing the dynamic duo's greatness. In an interview with Time, Ben Savage also praised his TV parents, saying, "Rusty and Betsy were terrific parents on-set and off, and they were always wonderful to me."

Amy and Alan greatly impacted the kids at home watching and their onscreen son all those years. They influenced viewers with their shining example of a healthy relationship, and certain "Boy Meets World" fans cherish the memorable moments spent with Momma and Poppa Mathews, with some even aspiring to recreate their special bond many years later.
