Experience

She came to truly love film and television through her experiences with academia and fiction writing. While writing her own stories, she became interested in how filmmakers craft their stories, which are told through so many other elements besides just writing. After taking courses in literature, film, and creative writing, she went on to teach her own classes, including Young Adult Literature & Film, Motherhood in Literature & Film, Gothic (Horror) Literature & Film, and Creative Writing. Her background in creative writing, literary analysis, history, and visual art gives her a multifaceted analytical perspective towards film and television.

Education

Caitlin earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Colby College; an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Syracuse Univevrsity; and a Ph.D. in Creative Writing & Literature from the University of Louisiana at Lafeyette. Through these degrees, she developed a deep understanding of storytelling, visual culture, and history, all of which guide her writing about film and television.
