“Chicago P.D.” is the first spinoff of “Chicago Fire” and the series that launched NBC’s “One Chicago” franchise, created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead. The series follows Hank Voight, the Police Sergeant of Chicago’s 21st District, played by Jason Beghe, and his ever changing crew.
Recently on Reddit, “Chicago P.D.” fans came together and voted on who they thought was Voight’s favorite unit member. 38% of the 342 voters agreed that Jay Halstead, the detective played by Jesse Lee Soffer, is Voight's most favored unit member.
Other fans argued that the poll only took into account current unit members and that, when considering the entire series, the answer would probably be either Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) or Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas). On the series, it would appear Halstead is the most likely of the three choices, with Lindsay being transferred to a narcotics unit in NYC, and Olinsky getting killed in prison.
