Adult Swim Just
Went On An Anime
Killing Spree
By SAM SKOPP
Immediately following the corporate merger between Warner Bros. and Discovery, the new parent company of Adult Swim began cutting and restructuring many of its brands. As it turns out, Adult Swim's anime catalog will be taking a hit amidst what has become an ongoing merger nightmare.
On September 27th, Adult Swim Senior Vice President Jason DeMarco retweeted the changes to Cartoon Network's broadcast schedule. This includes five original Adult Swim series like: “Blade Runner: Black Lotus,” “Fena: Pirate Princess,” “Shenmue: The Animation,” “Lazor Wulf” and “Tigtone."
Fans of the impacted series can still watch them on digital platforms. However, DeMarco’s reassurances ring a bit hollow as this seems to casual observers like a serious blow to Adult Swim's growing involvement in producing new, original anime.
