Ahsoka: The Big Villain Twist That Makes No Sense

The first few episodes of "Ahsoka" drop lots of new "Star Wars" lore. The most surprising twist is how the villain, Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto), isn’t what she seems to be.
First introduced in Season 2 of "The Mandalorian," it’s revealed that Morgan Elsbeth is actually a Nightsister from the planet Dathomir.
If you’ve seen "The Clone Wars," you may find that more than confusing, since Darth Sidious himself considered the Nightsisters one of the greatest threats to his reign.
At face value, Morgan's role within Palpatine’s regime makes no sense. However, there could be more going on than what we've been shown thus far.
Through a series of conflicts in "The Clone Wars" and the "Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir" comics, Talzin and the Nightsisters are effectively wiped from existence.
If Palpatine knew her true heritage, you’d think he’d want to take Morgan out. However, Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) probably used his influence to protect her.
This twist about Morgan is fun because it brings a key piece of "Clone Wars" lore into "Ahsoka," which pulls from "Star Wars Rebels," setting up potential after Thrawn returns.
