Alyson Hannigan is known for her perky voice and expressive eyes, which have served her well in the “American Pie” movies and in her breakout performance on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” Unlike her dark role in “Buffy,” Hannigan in the CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” played light-hearted Lily, which made the actress more willing to bring her daughters on set.
These set visits landed Hannigan’s youngest daughter, Satyana, a role — which she was then subsequently fired from. Satyana was going to play Daisy, Lily and Marshall’s infant daughter whom viewers meet in a flash-forward scene during the show’s final season; however, she was fired after producer Carter Bays told Hannigan that she was too old.
In the end, Bays’ child played Daisy despite being, according to Buzzfeed, “six months younger” than Satyana — an excuse that Hannigan still believes was given so that his own daughter could have the part. Once the show ended, Bays gave Hannigan a red photo booth prop to make amends and to make sure there were no hard feelings between the two.
