Andrew Dice Clay: Whatever Happened To Him?
By JORDAN BARANOWSKI

Andrew Dice Clay, known for his raunchy comedy, was banned for life from MTV when he veered off script when introducing Cher at the 1989 Video Music Awards.

Blacklisted

20th Century Fox had been working to transition Clay into a leading man, but the studio distanced itself from him after poor box-office performances and public backlash.

In 2007, his VH1 reality show "Dice: Undisputed" followed the comedian as he "came out of retirement," touring the country and attempting to regain popularity.

Reality TV Phase

In ‘09, he made a brief but memorable appearance on "The Celebrity Apprentice." Ten years later, he starred alongside his wife on the short-lived series "My Kitchen Rules."

A decade after his fall from grace, Clay resurfaced with a 5-episode arc on "Entourage," where he played a fictionalized version of himself.

Acting Comeback

His stand-out performance in the 2013 thrice-Oscar-nominated Woody Allen film "Blue Jasmine" gave Clay a chance to get his foot back in the door of feature films.

In 2014, Clay published a memoir, "The Filthy Truth," which provided candid insight into his fall from the peaks of stardom in his own, always colorful words.

His Book

In the book, Clay insisted that it was his decision to step back from an intense touring schedule and acting career so he could be a better father and help raise his kids.

He regularly appeared on comedy radio shows like "Opie and Anthony" while touring before hosting his own Sirius radio show called "Out of the Cage."

Radio and Podcasts

Clay hosted the podcasts "Rollin' with Dice and Wheels" (with comedian and friend Michael Wheels Parise) and "I'm Ova Hea Now," which produced 46 and 16 episodes, respectively.
