“Deadliest Catch” fans were stunned during the Season 19 finale. In it, Wild Bill Wichrowski receives test results that confirm that he has an aggressive form of prostate cancer
Wild Bill is told by his doctor that the illness is life-threatening, and he’s recommended a course of chemotherapy and hormone treatments to fight the disease.
The episode ends with Wild Bill dealing with the news and no further update on his health. Crabbing season is during winter months, so the footage is likely from spring of 2023.
Wild Bill appears to be alive as of press time, with his last Facebook post being made on September 9, 2023, but he has not released a statement about the status of his prognosis.
