Lord Of The Rings: What Happened To Merry & Pippin In The End Might Make You Cry
By JARON PAK
Merry and Pippin are vital parts of “Lord of the Rings” and are present in the final scenes of the books and movies. At the end of the trilogy, Tolkien notes what happens to them.
Merry becomes the master of his homeland region, Buckland, and writes about history. Pippin becomes the head of his extended family and the Hobbit militia.
They live long, comfortable lives before going to Rohan and then Gondor where they remain before their passing. Both Hobbits are rewarded for their key roles in the story.
After Aragorn dies and is buried in Rath Dínen, “It is said that the beds of Meriadoc and Peregrin were set beside the bed of the great king.” The Hobbit heroes lay amongst royals.
