Netflix's "Sex Education" has developed a dedicated fanbase over the show's three (soon to be four) seasons. It was recently announced that one of those beloved characters is about to make an exit, potentially leaving a huge plot hole when they do.
Actress Patricia Allison revealed she would not return for the fourth season, saying, "I absolutely have loved being on 'Sex Education' [...] but unfortunately, I won't be joining the team for Season 4. Some other opportunities have come up.” Allison is likely referring to stage work as she recently appeared in a West End production of Henrik Ibsen's "A Doll's House."
Allison portrays Ola Nyman, who dated Otis for a portion of the show's first and second season, but the romance was waylaid by the union of Jean and Ola's father, Jakob. Fans rallied around Ola and Lily, and the recent announcement must be devastating to them.
