“The Hunger Games” spinoff, “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” has been busy with casting, and fans are eager to see what the film has in store for them. The spinoff follows the story of young Coriolanus Snow, portrayed by Donald Sutherland in the original series; however, one iconic character that fans have been dying to meet is the Head Gamemaker.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Viola Davis will portray Volumnia Gaul, the Head Gamemaker in “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.” The actress has already shown how terrifying she can be in “Suicide Squad,” and will likely bring the same merciless energy to the role of the cruel, ruthless Head Gamemaker that “The Hunger Game” fans expect.
Lionsgate Motion Picture President Nathan Kahane said, “From the beginning, Viola has been our dream for Dr. Gaul because of the finely layered intelligence and emotion she brings to every role.” Fans should be ready to watch how Gaul shapes young Coriolanus Snow into the villainous man they know he will become.
