Allen Connected
With Jay Leno

Jay Leno has done plenty of acting over the years, with one of his biggest roles in the sitcom "Last Man Standing," in which he played mechanic Joe Leonard. The sitcom’s star, Tim Allen, and Leno have the bond of comedy, but another connection seems to be behind much of the friendship.
The two comedians connected over cars and became friendly rivals in the '90s when Allen would come onto "The Tonight Show,” and they'd swap car facts and even race each other. On "Jay Leno's Garage," the two reminisced about a 1995 “Tonight Show” burnout race, which Allen won; fans are still awaiting a rematch.
Leno has a passion for collecting cars and for the stories behind them. Allen’s deep connection to cars was a love passed down from his father, who died in a car wreck when the actor was just 11.
