In "JSS" (Season 6, Episode 2), viewers see a flashback of Enid's life from the days after her parents were eaten by Walkers. Lost in the woods and struggling to survive, the hungry girl decides to consume a turtle, and what results is a truly grisly moment that left fans gagging — and wondering how the heck the producers pulled it off.

Most Walkers are killed with conventional weapons, but there are some creative deviations, such as Carol shooting a propane tank in "No Sanctuary" (Season 5, Episode 1). In a CGI moment as comical as it is improbable, a couple of well-aimed shots and a bottle rocket cause a brilliant explosion that sends Walker bodies flying in all directions.
When zombies fly
One can learn a lot about post-apocalyptic survivors from their living spaces, and when it comes to Morgan Jones’ in "Clear" (Season 3, Episode 12), it's hard not to notice the writing scrawled across every wall. Pausing the show at just the right time yields a fair amount of insight into Morgan's mental state and where he's been since Rick last saw him.

A nod to “Breaking Bad” can be briefly seen in "Bloodletting" (Season 2, Episode 2), when Daryl retrieves a bag of drugs from his brother Merle's bike that includes a substance that looks suspiciously like Heisenberg’s signature blue crystal meth. The scene spawned a fan theory that suggests Heisenberg’s meth may be the cause of the zombie outbreak.
The Heisenberg principle
One of the most iconic Walkers is the little zombie girl Rick mistakes for a living child in Episode 1, "Days Gone Bye." Officially named Summer, the zombie is played by Addy Miller, but this isn't Miller's only appearance — she pops up as a grown-up zombie towards the beginning of "Mercy" (Season 8, Episode 1) to commemorate the show’s 100th episode.
