Vinessa Antoine joined the cast of "General Hospital" in 2014, and played the character of Jordan Ashford for four years before she was replaced by Briana Nicole Henry. Antoine's mysterious exit led fans to wonder why she left the famed soap opera, and the star eventually spoke out about the matter herself.
Antoine joined the cast of the show "Diggstown" shortly after leaving "General Hospital," suggesting that she wanted to move on to new pastures. However, the actor revealed that her exit was "out of my control," and she "never planned to leave [General Hospital]. I was hoping to get to do what the other actors get to do [...] go on a little sabbatical."
Some soap stars do take breaks from their shows, and their characters are written out until it's time for their return, but instead of waiting for Antoine, the "General Hospital" team simply recasted Jordan. "I thought maybe my character could go away on an undercover mission or fall into a coma," Antoine explained, "But they had other plans".
