SPOILER ALERT!

In Season 3 of “The Witcher,” Geralt learns Vilgefortz is a spy for Nilfgaard, but before he can act, a large conflict ensues for control of the Brotherhood of Sorcerers.

Amidst the chaos, Geralt tries to save Ciri, but they are intercepted by Vilgefortz, who effortlessly defeats Geralt, breaking his sword and spine.

Vilgefortz’s prowess in combat is a long-standing curiosity. The Netflix series mirrors the intensity of their book-based showdown.

Fans on Reddit theorized that Vilgefortz’s combat skills stem from his mercenary background and inherent magical talent due to his mage lineage.

Geralt, skilled in combating monsters and mages, might have needed to prepare for a proper battle mage like Vilgefortz, leading to his defeat.

Season 3 concludes Henry Cavill’s role as Geralt. Liam Hemsworth will be the next to take on Vilgefortz in the series finale.
