What Is The Curse Of Oak Island's 'Breakthrough Discovery' In Season 11?
By EMILY ZOGBI
In Season 11, Episode 8 of History's "The Curse of Oak Island," treasure-hunting brothers Rick and Marty Lagina experienced a setback in the Garden Shaft due to mass flooding.
The flooding, however, led to a potential breakthrough discovery, thanks to the help of Dumas Contract Ltd., as the "Oak Island" crew tried to fix the problem.
As Dumas Contract Ltd. drilled into the Garden Shaft to find the source of the water, Roger Fortin of the company discovered a small cavern while in the shaft.
This was found behind the structure full of wooden timber, and what may be signs of man-made structures. According to the narrator, the cavern is located at a depth of 65 feet.
In a confessional interview, Rick Lagina wondered, "Is this [...] connected to an offset chamber or a previously unknown void, and might it lead somewhere?"
"But you gotta get down there, you gotta put your eyes on it and, if it happens to turn out to be true, wow. That would be amazing," he added.
