Who Plays Earien On The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power?
By SHANE O'NEILL
"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" sets the stage for the War of the Ring by exploring the Second Age: a time in the Tolkien canon filled with war, mystery, and the rise of evil entities bent on taking Middle-earth by force. However, it doesn't solely include Tolkien creations on its character roster as is the case with Eärien the daughter of Elendil.
Eärien is portrayed by actress Ema Horvath and it is her most prominent role to date. She kicked off her career with "Like.Share.Follow," and in the years that followed she appeared in several projects including, "The Gallows Act II,” "The Two Hundred Fifth,” and "What Lies Below." It remains to be seen how her character will factor into the story, but given her royal lineage, she'll likely be pretty important.
Despite her unfamiliarity with Tolkien's works, Horvath understands the daunting challenge ahead of her, saying in an interview: "I was delighted when I got the job. But then the seriousness of the fan base starts to set in. I spent a lot of time on the Reddit threads, for better or for worse […] You have to have a thick skin when you're reading that stuff."
