Netflix’s limited series “Inventing Anna” brings the story of the conniving Anna Sorokin to the small screen and one of the essential characters is Rachel the con artist’s best friend. Showrunner Shonda Rhimes is known for casting actors she has worked with before which is why Katie Lowes, the actress that plays Rachel, may look familiar.

Shonda Rhimes’ fans will recognize Lowes from the ABC smash hit “Scandal,” where Lowes played Quinn Perkins, the hardworking fixer at Olivia Pope and Associates. Lowes then reprised her role as Quinn in the failed spinoff, "Scandal: Gladiator Wanted."

Lowes is also known for her voice work and for playing big and small parts in movies like "Frozen," "Big Hero 6," "Zootopia," and "Ralph Breaks the Internet." Between the end of "Scandal" in 2018 and "Inventing Anna," Lowes mostly stepped out of the spotlight, only appearing in the TV movie "Christmas Takes Flight" and an episode of "Interconnected."
