Carolyn McCormick briefly played the character Minuet, a hologram created by William T. Riker, in Season 1 of “Star Trek: The Next Generation." Although McCormick’s character was an artificial being, her ability to make a positive impression on "Stark Trek" fans was very real.

Based on the novels written by Robert B. Parker, “Spenser: For Hire” is one of McCormick’s most prominent roles. She played Assistant District Attorney Rita Fiore during the show’s three-season run and found her niche as a successful crime show star.

“Mapplethorpe'' isn't McCormick’s usual gig, but she did an excellent job in this independent biographical film as Joan, the controversial photographer’s mother. The movie received decent praise from those attending the Tribeca Film Festival in 2018, although some critics thought “Mapplethorpe” was just average.
